I visited this place 40 years ago. The temple is made of laterite blocks and all sculptures are curved out of laterite. The rock is not quartzite, it is laterite. Please correct it. I am a geologist.
I visited last year. yea rock is laterite. But it seems that there may be old temple with these pillars. Temple what we see now is made latter.
Very valuable information, it's not in all the blogs that we find here, congratulations, I was looking for something like this and found it here.
